In the summer of 2003, I traveled to Chile to visit my friend Ben. While driving up Route 1 towards the Atacama Desert, we got a flat tire. We rolled into a Goodyear in Antofagasta on a damaged spare and while there bought two Goodyear hats. Later that week, as we drank pisco sours, we made a bet … whoever travels to the most counties in 5 years, and takes a picture with the Goodyear hat, gets a free trip to New Zealand from the other guy. On my way from Paris to Amsterdam, I stopped for a day in Brussels. A day was plenty to check out the sights, including the Grand Place, which is surrounded by guild houses, the city's Town Hall and the Breadhouse. And of course, I had my picture taken in front of my new friend, Manneken Pis.
